Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training with EBS (OPITO 5700)
Awarding body: OPITO. Checked against the body's own page on 23 September 2026.
Not required by law anywhere we have checked. Where it is needed, employers and site operators require it by contract. Valid for 4 years, as stated by OPITO. It is renewed through FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training) with EBS.
Who requires it
- Internationally: Not required by law — employers and site operators require it by contract. Required by operators for offshore installation access. Not law. Norway and the Netherlands run their OWN regimes — a BOSIET holder is not compliant there by default.
Who trains and assesses
An OPITO-approved training centre delivers to the OPITO standard; OPITO does not train.
